Ardameri perched on Mount Hortiatis and built in a location where half of the houses face the mountain and the other half face Lake Koroneia “surrounded” by large forests full of oak, beech and chestnut trees is a village that definitely enchants the visitor.
The church of the village is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It was built in 1836 on the ruins of an early Christian church and in the past it was the seat of the Metropolis of Ekkoulia (today Ierissos), Mount Athos and Ardamerion.
But one church that is worth going to is that of The Holy Trinity in Ardameri.
